Representatives of the 11 botanical gardens get together in its annual meeting held at the Cupaynicú, of Guisa, from November 17 to 21, to promote improvements and development actions.
The opening of the event was in charge of Carlos Manuel Pérez Cueva, director of the National Botanical Garden, at the Sierra Maestra Hotel, where the participants started the exchanges, while a wide program of activities will takes place during the week.
The highest authorities of the party and the government in Granma welcomed the participants to the annual Botanical Gardens meeting.
At the government headquarters in Bayamo, the First Secretary of the Party (PCC) Federico Hernandez, stressed the importance of this event to promote joint actions that could become the preservation of these ecosystems that treasure valuable species of our flora.
As part of the event, the participants will tour site of the southern part of the province, like the monuments of Braulio Coreneaux, La Demajagua and the Landing of the Granma Yacht, the community of Cabo Cruz and the Cactus garden in Pilón.(By: Milena Céspedes Milan)
